[osc-secnum-fr1] Access to some apps is degraded

» View Event Details | Created Mon, 14 Jul 2025 20:39:00 +0000

Post-Mortem

On July 14, 2025, the osc-secnum-fr1 region experienced a significant service disruption lasting approximately four hours. During this time, customers hosted in this region may have encountered difficulties accessing their applications and databases.

The root cause originated from our infrastructure provider, where a hardware failure in the storage service affected roughly 20% of the virtual machines forming Scalingo's infrastructure in this region. More details are available on our provider's status page: https://status.outscale.com/incidents/w5wfwvhmw2p1.

We are actively redesigning Scalingo’s infrastructure to take advantage of a more robust architecture, based on multiple VPCs distributed across different Availability Zones (AZs). These efforts aim to better isolate failures and improve fault tolerance.

While this incident affected network access to your applications and databases, the integrity and confidentiality of your data and applications remained fully preserved.

[osc-fr1 and osc-secnum-fr1] MySQL Database access

» View Event Details | Created Wed, 16 Jul 2025 16:08:00 +0000

Update

We have identified the root cause of this incident. We had previously encountered a similar issue and conducted an in-depth investigation back in June. Our analysis revealed a bug in the MySQL Router component, which we reported on the official MySQL repository (https://bugs.mysql.com/bug.php?id=118059). Last week, a new MySQL version was released (https://dev.mysql.com/doc/relnotes/mysql-router/8.0/en/news-8-0-43.html) and include a fix for this specific bug. We are currently validating this new minor version, and our goal is to roll it out to production during August. We will keep you informed of our progress.
