TL;DR; All PostgreSQL databases must be upgraded to the latest patch version. You can do it by yourself before Monday 4th of July 2PM CEST by visiting your database's dashboard. It will be performed automatically afterward.

    Description

A maintenance impacting PostgreSQL database deployments on all regions has been planned. This maintenance requires to apply the latest patch-level upgrade to all PostgreSQL databases hosted on the platform.

This maintenance aims at upgrading the tool supporting the continuous backuping of the database, allowing the Point in Time Recovery feature, named pgbackrest. We are obliged to enforce this upgrade to prevent an incompatibility with the storage backend used by pgbackrest, provided by our provider Outscale.

According to the major version branch of the PostgreSQL database you will have to upgrade to reach a certain patchlevel. Here is the list:

    • 10: 10.21.0-1
    • 11: 11.16.0-1
    • 12: 12.11.0-2
    • 13: 13.7.0-1

    Impact on your Database

This is a minor upgrade, downtime will depend of the plan you have:

    • Starter/Sandbox: ~1 minute (Restart of the database)
    • Business: ~5 seconds (Replication failover)

    Expected action from you

Starter and Business plan owners have until Monday 2022/07/04 2PM CEST to trigger the upgrade by themselves. Otherwise the upgrade will be triggered automatically.

Sandbox plans will start being upgraded immediately on Friday 2022/07/01.

    How to upgrade your Database?

You can upgrade to the latest minor version of your database in just one click. By visiting your database's dashboard the "Overview" tab includes a "Database Upgrade" section that will let you upgrade automatically to the latest patch-level version.

Thank you for your understanding. We know this is a short notice maintenance, this upgrade has to be applied to ensure service continuity and data safety.

If you have any question, please contact our support.
